Building Schools

Abaana works with children in rural communities across Africa. Our current focus is Uganda.

There are an estimated 2 million children in Uganda who are not registered in any school, and a further 5 million attending schools that have temporary structures (shacks). Without a good quality education these children will remain in the poverty trap.

Abaana aims to give hope to these rural communities, initially by building the schools, and then helping develop them into quality education centres.

Abaana Schools are built to last, and where many organisations will simply build for the cheapest costs, we ensure that we not only meet the minimum government standards but surpass them. To date Abaana has built over 145 classrooms over 17 sites. Our Uganda team has over 20 years of experience in delivering these projects.
